Heather + Alec | Downtown Denver Engagement Session

What started out as a pizza date turned into love. When Heather and Alec told me their first date was at Mellow Mushroom I was so excited! I actually didn't know it was a restaurant chain until recently. Coming from Jacksonville Florida, Mellow Mushroom was one of my family's favorite places to eat! I knew Heather and Alec were my people. 😍 We met in front of Mellow Mushroom and took on Downtown Denver near the 16th Street Mall. They had really envisioned some pictures by "The Big Blue Bear" and the famous Yellow Wall as part of their engagement pictures. I actually didn't know to much about this bear. The Artist had described this piece as " I See What You Mean" and you can read more about it here.(It's worth the read!) Y'all, this thing is 40 feet tall! I knew it was big, but whoa! I loved him! Denver's art scene is pretty amazing and I could tell why Heather and Alec wanted to incorporate it into their engagement session. Not to mention, they are getting married at the Brown Palace Hotel, also in downtown Denver. Their downtown vibe seemed to really flow. #love

We hit a hiccup with the Yellow Wall and couldn't get to do the pictures they had hoped for. They were washing windows. (Boo!) But Heather and Alec were still just as excited. We found a fun graffiti wall and got some fun shots there. I had a blast! They kissed more times than I asked😜 and hugged each other close without any prompts. Walking around downtown Denver and watching them interact made me super excited for their June wedding. I can't wait to photograph them both in June at the Brown Palace Hotel.
